We got our Christmas tree today. We went to a tree farm in Watertown called Treeland. We were really excited to go this year because Keegan can walk, and we just thought that he might be a little into to the whole thing. Well...he did have a good time but not because of getting a tree. First, Philip gave him the saw (don't worry, it had a blade protector on it). He loved the saw. He thought it was the greatest thing. Well, I got that away from him, and he found sticks. There was a beautiful german shepard who lives at the farm. The owner told us to find "frisbees" to throw for him because he loved to fetch. Well, we didn't find any frisbees, but Keegan found sticks to throw for him. The dog was very nice and gentle, but I was so concerned that he was going to take Keegan's arm off because Keegan wasn't fond of letting go of the sticks. He just wanted

the dog (Isaiah, as Keegan would say) to get the stick without it leaving his hands. The dog followed us the entire time we were at the farm. He loved Keegan and his sticks.
We looked and looked at trees. We wanted to make sure we got the perfect one. We had a tape measure with us this time because we have had "tree trouble" in the past. You know a 10 feet tree in a small apartment. They always look so much smaller in the big field than they do in your home. We finally settled on one that we could trim back to be the perfect size. Keegan watched as Philip cut the tree down. To my surprise he wasn't very interested. He just went back to finding sticks for the dog.

Philip got it down, "rolled" it back to the barn, got it all shook out, and tied to the car. We made it home with our tree. Keegan watched from inside as Philip cut it down and got it in the stand. Philip then carried the tree inside and began to cut the netting off. Keegan still wasn't that interested until he got the scissors. He was cutting the tree just like daddy had been doing. Philip then had to adjust the tree so that it was standing straighter, Keegan got down and looked under the tree with daddy. It was then time to clean up so Philip got the broom to sweep up the pine needles. Keegan was more excited about sweeping than anything about the tree. Oh well...we really enjoyed our morning making memories for our little family.
Merry Christmas!!
