Swim Lessons

E-mail Print PDF

Keegan did his first day of swim lessons this afternoon.  What a big stress for me!!!  I really didn't think that he would cry, but he did.  If you know Keegan, then you know that he needs a good 5 minutes to warm up to new situations.  Well today, he didn't get that 5 minutes.  The main instructor was talking to the parents while his other instructors were in the pool with the kids.  He at one point asked who belonged to the kid that was screaming.  Philip and I reluctantly raised our hands.  He didn't stop his screaming for a good 30 minutes.  As you will see in the video, they just had to mention his name, and he would start crying.  By the end, I think that he finally calmed down.  He at least didn't cry when they said his name.  He just made some not so good faces when he was floating on his back in the pool.  I really thought that this was a good thing to start this early, but now I am questioning myself.  I felt awful when he was crying.  I will update again at the end of the week to let you know how the week of swim lessons ends.

Keegan Fishing

E-mail Print PDF

Keegan went "fishing" today with his dad and pop.  I use quotations for fishing because they didn't actually catch anything.  Plus, Keegan was more interested in the worms and splashing than he was with the actual fish.  I am sure that if they would have caught one he would have been excited, but hey, he did it with a smile.

Easter Eggs

E-mail Print PDF

altThis picture says it all!!

I thought that it would be a great idea to color eggs with Keegan.  I have great memories of coloring eggs at Easter and wanted Keegan to have these same great memories.

Well, I am not sure how much of coloring eggs he will remember from today, but I sure will.  He really loved it.  Well, he mainly loved the dropping (more like throwing) them in the color and pulling (with his fingers) them out of the color.

He kept calling them balls which is why I think he was trying to throw them around.  We cracked several before, during, and after the coloring.  We had an excellent time, and don't worry, we all made it out with most of the color on the eggs.

I just had to share this after I saw the picture.  This picture certainly is worth a thousand words.
